3D Projectors
3D-Capable Displays, Projectors, HDTVs and Monitors
Looking for HDTVs, projectors, or monitors to display 3D? You're in the right place.
To watch a program in 3D, you will need to buy a 3D-capable display. There’s no way around it. These displays usually have a higher processing power than older models as they need to display one image for each eye to create a 3D effect. HDTV manufacturers say that older models will not be capable of displaying 3D technology because of the specs needed to create a 3D effect. You will need to buy a 3D-capable display (HDTV, monitor, etc.) to get 3D at home.
All 3D-capable HDTVs released in 2010 and onwards will feature active technology, requiring you to wear active shutter glasses to watch 3D on your HDTV.
Most projectors and monitors use either passive or active technology. You will need to either buy polarized glasses for a display using passive technology or active shutter glasses for a display with active technology. Be aware that active shutter glasses sold by TV manufacturers are unlikely to be compatible with a projector or monitor with active technology.
